Success story: implementation of a busbar trunking system in a hyperscale data centre

Installing EAE busbar trunking in a hyperscale data centre — Telenco / Neklan DC

As part of building a hyperscale data centre, we delivered—via our subsidiary Neklan DC—the complete installation of a busbar trunking power distribution system. This project showcases our expertise in deploying mission-critical infrastructure, where reliability, scalability and redundancy are essential.
 

Detailed design and technical coordination

From the design phase, we conducted detailed design and execution studies to define precisely:
 

  • the power capacities to be distributed by technical area,
  • the layout of supports and busbar trunking runs,
  • the interfaces with strategic equipment (LV main switchboards, UPS systems, distribution cabinets, generator sets).

 
These studies were carried out in coordination with the project management team and other trades involved in the data centre construction, such as air conditioning, fire safety and HVAC.

Supply and installation of busbar trunking

Following the studies, we supplied, delivered and installed all required equipment. Each EAE busbar trunking section was installed in accordance with protocols specific to critical environments.
 

Custom firestop assemblies were integrated at every wall and floor penetration, ensuring compliance with safety standards. The implemented power system supplies directly:
 

  • LV main switchboards (MSB),
  • transformers,
  • UPS systems,
  • emergency power systems (generator sets).

Testing and commissioning

Before energisation, we performed a comprehensive series of checks:
 

  • mechanical alignment and torquing of sections,
  • continuity and insulation tests,
  • verification of connections and protective devices,
  • self-inspections and full system labelling.

 
These steps ensure the reliability and safety of the installation, in line with the availability standards expected in a hyperscale data centre.
